It's 2025, and this is the first blog post in almost 3 years.

Why am I restarting this now? Well, there are two primary reasons.

The primary one is - I've been writing down my recipes over the years, and I've been waiting for some kind of opportunity to share them. Now seems like a good time to start some new habits! Blog writing isn't hard. However, like any new habit, it takes commitment to become part of your daily routine.

The second one is - it's time to put some serious thought, planning, and execution to this side hustle! If you've been working on a side hustle and want to increase your presence, then take this as your sign to go for it! It's not going to go anywhere without putting in the work, and life is full of unpredictable moments, so why wait any longer?

Ok so now you know my motive, now we can just get on with the secrets!

  • First secret: It's not really mine, but every soup maker knows it - the soup is ALL about the broth. Without a good base, it just doesn't get that same depth in flavor. I don't consider myself a soup master (...maybe one day...) but the years I've been doing it for my family and friends, a few key foundational blocks are definitely necessary to bring your soup from "mmmmm" to "OMG what is this?! It's INCREDIBLE!".

  • Second secret: Bake what is seasonal. You will ALWAYS get a better end result when the produce is fresh for that season. Plus, you will also get better bang for your buck! (if you're selling, that is).

  • Third secret: Take a thousand taste-tests and season as you go. NEVER skip this. Have you ever watched cooking shows? What does Gordon Ramsay say to almost every single chef? - other than the infamous "IT'S RAW" with a British accent - ....MORE SALT/SEASONING!

  • Fourth secret: Contrasting yet pairing flavors always do best together. Whether it's rich and light, sweet and spicy, tangy and bright, or savory and herby - there are so many options to make every dish a new adventure.

  • Fifth secret: Eyes always eat first! This is not purely for social platforms. I'm a true believer that whatever you've got going on the plate is gorgeous, it will accentuate the taste buds. Everything tastes better when we know subconsciously we're eating healthy and beautifully.

There you have it! Those are my secrets that helped me get to where I am today in my soup master journey. Got any tips of your own? Let's hear 'em!
